
The Beginner Referee Course is LYSA's preferred referee training path and includes both online training and an in-person field session with a Referee Coach/Mentor to prepare beginners for the recreational and competitive youth and adult game. All online requirements must be completed prior to acceptance into the in-person clinic.
The Beginner Digital Referee Course is not a full referee certification but can be an option for those interested in becoming a referee but can't make it to an in-person field session. However, it will allow referee participation in all levels of Montana soccer excluding high school and college. If you are age 13-17, we strongly encourage you to take the Full Beginner Referee Course, which includes the in-person interactive field session. Referees who officiate four (4) or more games in Livingston—whether recreational, competitive, or a combination—within a calendar year will be reimbursed for the course registration fee.
